Dr. Nicole K. Grimes, writer/host

Dr. Nicole K. Grimes was born in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹. She is an alumna of The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY) where she received a Ph.D. in Urban Education with a concentration in Mathematics, Science and Technology. She has been a fervent STEM educator for almost two decades. Grimes has earned two prestigious awards for her education publications including an award from the journal CSSE (Cultural Studies of Science Education) – Best Manuscript of the Year for 2013 & a Best Manuscript Award V from ASTE (Association for Science Teacher Education) for Implications of Research for Educational Practice in 2010.

Currently, Grimes serves as a field consultant to CUNY Lehman College’s Department of Middle and High School Science Education; an education consultant for the Research Foundation of CUNY; and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUNY (SPS) School of Professional Studies and CUNY Lehman. She also curates professional development workshops for educators via TRIAD Consulting as well as her own consulting firm, NRG Consulting Strategies.

Alongside her educational endeavors, Grimes is also the creator and face behind Carib Biz Network, an educational and collaborative platform aimed at supporting small Caribbean businesses globally. She is currently at work on her first book slated for completion in 2020.
