Nelly Rosario, author
Nelly Rosario was raised in Brooklyn, born in Santo Domingo 🇩🇴. Her writing aims to desegregate genres and disciplines. She is the author of Song of the Water Saints: A Novel, winner of a PEN/Open Book Award, and holds an MFA from Columbia University.
Her fiction and non-fiction appear in various journals and anthologies, including Review, Chess Life, Callaloo, and a column in el diario/La Prensa. Honors include the Creative Capital Artist Award in Literature for desveladas, a collaborative fotonovela project that engages stories from the Americas. Rosario conducts research for the MIT Black History Project and is an Associate Professor at Williams College.
Besides working to disassemble Western clocks, Rosario is currently burning the midnight oil on a speculative novel about medical activism in the Americas.
