Nelly Rosario, author

Nelly Rosario was raised in Brooklyn, born in Santo Domingo 🇩🇴. Her writing aims to desegregate genres and disciplines. She is the author of Song of the Water Saints: A Novel, winner of a PEN/Open Book Award, and holds an MFA from Columbia University. ⁣

Her fiction and non-fiction appear in various journals and anthologies, including Review, Chess Life, Callaloo, and a column in el diario/La Prensa. Honors include the Creative Capital Artist Award in Literature for desveladas, a collaborative fotonovela project that engages stories from the Americas. Rosario conducts research for the MIT Black History Project and is an Associate Professor at Williams College. ⁣

Besides working to disassemble Western clocks, Rosario is currently burning the midnight oil on a speculative novel about medical activism in the Americas.⁣
